Timings

Please organise your travel to arrive at the course venue by 08:30 hours to register your attendance
The course will start promptly at 08:45 hours and is scheduled to finish at 17:00 hours. (please note: timings are subject to change at the discretion of the course tutor).

Learner resource area

The learner resource area contains important information in relation to your course and assessments. We recommend that you access the Learner Resource Area now and read the information carefully. There may be some pre-course work to do. If you have studied with us before and have an online account, please log in via www.britsafe.org.

Examination information

The qualification comprises three units, each of which is assessed separately:

  • Unit IGC1: International Management of Health and Safety
    • Assessed by a 2-hour written examination
  • Unit IFC1: International Fire Safety and Risk Management
    • Assessed by a 2-hour written examination
  • Unit FC2: Practical Fire Risk Assessment
    • Assessed by a fire risk assessment carried out in the candidate’s workplace

Professional membership

Holders of the NEBOSH International Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management are entitled to Associate Membership (AIOSH) of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH). The qualification also meets the academic requirements for Technician Membership (Tech IOSH). 

Assessment registration and fees

The dates for the examinations are selected and paid for when the course is booked with your British Safety Council Account Manager.
If the candidate wishes to make changes to the examination booking, they should make contact with the British Safety Council Account Manager on +44 (0)20 8741 1231 as soon as possible.

Please Note: Any changes are subject to space availability and may incur additional fees.

Assessment

Prior to the examination, the candidate will receive a reminder with location information and a NEBOSH Registration Form, this is to be completed and returned to the British Safety Council Examinations Officer in London. 

The student will also receive instructions for the practical fire risk assessment and details of the submission due date.
