Primary Job Purpose
- Conduct, commission, and collaborate on bespoke research projects aimed at building British Safety Council (BSC) India’s new product portfolio in worker safety, health, and wellbeing.
- Work with the wider team to collaborate on these research projects.
- Collaborate with the communications, marketing, and technical teams to share and promote the findings and outputs of these and other research initiatives.
Brief Description of Tasks
- Develop and keep up to date with research relating to worker safety, health and wellbeing, building an understanding of client and industry needs and producing actionable insights.
- Produce research, for example, desktop literature review, mystery shopping and cutting-edge primary research on specific topics in line with the strategic priorities of British Safety Council, developing an understanding of customer behaviour through different research methodologies.
- Be at the forefront of shaping, developing and implementing BSC’s new products, ensuring all information and data generated is researched, evaluated, analysed, developed and recorded appropriately.
- Undertake and oversee surveys, fieldwork, trials or pilots as required, working with third parties and clients to deliver projects on time, on budget and to meet desired objectives.
- Develop insight into market/product opportunities alongside the Managing Director India and conduct research to support development, marketing and delivery of new products where it meets with British Safety Council strategic priorities.
- Keep up to date with worker health, safety and wellbeing developments across the globe.
- Use research to help shape the future of our commercial and charitable operations.
- Collaborate with the wider communications team to disseminate and promote research findings among our key audiences and stakeholders, via written articles and social media as well as with the British Safety Council senior team, trustees, members and customers.
- Collaborate with product teams to gain a deep understanding of their areas, leading on monthly competitor intelligence gathering and reporting to the product teams and broader organisation
- Champion research and insight across the organisation.
- Monitor, review and report on external research, presenting findings and key information in a clear and logical manner.
- Manage any applicable research budget ensuring that relevant targets are maintained.
- Continually analyse programme risks, implement mitigation measures.
Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience.
- Sound understanding of different types of research methodology.
- Competent at setting up research projects from scratch and running them.
- Able to influence across different teams and levels of staff.
- Self-starter, able to work on own initiative and drive projects forward.
- Strong analytical ability and management of data.
- Skilled in identifying, managing and escalating risks.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to summarise complex findings into useable reports.
- Strong written English skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Superb attention to detail.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Some technical understanding of health, safety or wellbeing.
- Salesforce (CRM) experience.
Experience
- A proven track record of managing research projects.
- Record of conducting primary and secondary research.
- Record of conducting competitor intelligence and mystery shopping.
- Experience in research programme design, implementation, monitoring and reporting.
- Experience managing research performance and risk.
- Experience managing diverse sets of internal and external stakeholders.
- Project management experience with budget responsibility.
- Experience in writing summary documents to communicate research findings to non-specialist stakeholders.
