IEMA Course Information
What’s the outcome?
The IEMA Foundation Certificate will give you the knowledge, skills and confidence to contribute to environmental and sustainability management in your organisation. It will also boost your career prospects.
Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, you automatically become an Associate member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
There are no entry requirements for this certificate, however it is important that learners have a suitable standard of English language in order to understand and articulate the concepts contained in the syllabus.
This course covers a wide range of topics including environmental principles, legislation, management tools and discusses the role of innovation and leading practices in developing sustainable products, services and solutions.

To study the IEMA Foundation Course in Environmental Management you must be a member of IEMA. The cost of this is £118 for 12 months membership (no VAT), this will be added to your basket at checkout. If you already have membership, you will still need to purchase another 12 months.
Regardless of your chosen route of study, you will have the option to complete your assessment on line. The 1-hour open-book multiple choice examination is undertaken (at home or in the workplace) within 28 days of the end of the course.
Results and Certificates
You will receive your certificate parchment within 8 weeks of the successful completion of your online assessment.
Learning progression: What’s next?
Once completed, our students often continue their studies by completing an IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH National General, NEBOSH Construction or sometimes broadening their knowledge with our shorter courses, such as British Safety Council Risk Assessments. Please contact us to discuss your options.
How can I study?
In your workplace
We can visit your workplace and deliver the course on dates of your choice. This is an effective way of training a group of people as it saves on travel costs and allows learners to keep in touch with work.
The five-day course can be delivered in a single week or, if you prefer, on separate days over a longer period.
The multiple-choice examination is undertaken online (at home or in the workplace) within 28 days of the end of the course.
